This is just for fun but it might be true after all, but anyways, here it is:

Diligence surpasses Brain.
No matter how smart you are, if you don't complement your smartness with diligence, you are just wasting it. Singaporeans or PRCs might not be the smartest people in the planet but their disipline and diligence are the things to be credited.
If you feel that "How come they are so stupid, such simple question also confused" but it always turns out that they always have higher grades than you, you will know why is that.
Even the smart North Korean boy in the big bang theory who was said to be smarter than Sheldon Cooper, in the end fell to the not-so-good side of society. *lol*

Luck surpasses Diligence
Well, the definition of luck here is indeed how fortunate you are or how not unfortunate you are. Even if nothing had happened, it's also considered a part of being lucky. Luckily, nothing happened, what if you've studied so hard for exam and suddenly you fall sick and unable to attend the exam; What if you've graduated with First class honors but you just can't find job, or a disaster happened? Well, I know it's a bad way to put it but, luck is a factor above almost everything no matter how diligent you are.

But since we can't control luck, we still can be diligent. That's the best we can do...
Go work hard... ermmhh.. actually a bit awkward coming from a lazy person like me
