LAJ1201 early semester

Okay, I screwed up my first quiz.
Gosh, a silly mistake.

Anyways,

But, that's like a trigger. If you don't make mistake at early stage, we'll tend to make mistakes at the later stages. But if the mistake is already made in the early stage, It will be remembered till the end of the semester. (Hopefully)

So this course is super fun but at the same time taxing. I think it's the most taxing language course in NUS since it's 7 hours of class per week! 1 2-hour lecture, 2 2-hour tutorials, and 1 1-hour tutorial.
Okay, so the lecturer, is a Japanese who speaks Japlish, you know, Singapore Singlish, Japan Japlish lah! hahaha.. But this lecture is strict slash funny! Well the japlish part was quite expected though.

Then the tutorials are different tutors since it's different classes.
Surprisingly when I went to the first tutorial, the tutor had a katakana surname (English surname) namely: watson. And She speaks standard American English! So we have no difficulty in understanding her in English. We would have if she speaks in Japlish also.
second tutorial, a male tutor, Hamasaki sensei, a japanese surname. It awes the whole class again when he spoke out standard English with British accent.
There are at least already 2 good English speaking teacher, but still the funny thing is that the lecturer's English is Japlish and at times a bit difficult to catch.

Hmmm, maybe it's because this lecturer is more senior or he might be better in teaching big class rather than tutorial which is more personal.

Studying in tutorial class makes me feel like a kid again where we had to be all polite and stuffs. Correct greetings and even behavior; repeat what the teacher says; quiz every class.
For the formality of the class, I think indeed being polite is a must although the tutors seems friendly and I can't seem to stop thinking about casual speech. (what is always taught is formal speech)

Tutorial is fun though, learning new words and grammars. Being able to tell that you can understand better than before the tutorial, when you watch anime, is an indication of improvement!

Ahhh.. yeah.. I look forward to a great semester of Japanese level 1 ahead!
